Size Guide

Size Guide

Goalkeeper gloves should fit snug — about 1 cm of extra material beyond your fingertips. Too loose and the ball pushes the palm away from your hand; too tight and you lose feel. Find your size below — if you're between two, size up.

How to Measure

Hand Length (most important)

  1. Place your dominant hand flat on a table, fingers together.
  2. Measure from the base of your palm (where it meets your wrist) to the tip of your middle finger.
  3. Add 1 cm — that's your glove length.
  4. Match it to the "Hand Length" column above.

Hand Circumference (cross-check)

  1. Wrap a soft measuring tape around your dominant hand just below the knuckles, excluding the thumb.
  2. Keep your hand open and relaxed.
  3. Use it to confirm the size from the table.

Fit Tips

  • Between two sizes? Size up. Our gloves run snug — sizing up gives you natural finger movement.
  • Buying for a growing keeper? Stick to half a size up, not a full one. Too much extra material reduces ball control.
  • Finger Save gloves feel stiffer at first — spines soften after 2–3 sessions.
  • Wet weather? Dampen the palms before kick-off for maximum tackiness.

Common Questions

How do I know if my gloves fit correctly?

With the glove on and fingers extended, you should feel about 1 cm of empty material beyond your fingertips. The palm should sit flat against your hand without bunching or stretching. The wrist strap should pull tight enough to hold the glove in place during a dive, but not cut off circulation.

My child is between sizes — should I size up?

Yes, by half a size only. Going a full size up causes the palm to shift on impact, which reduces grip and increases injury risk on hard shots.

Are UNDERTHEBAR gloves true to size?

Our gloves run slightly snug compared to high-street brands. If you've previously worn a size 8 from another brand, you'll likely need a size 8 or 9 from us depending on fit preference. Most keepers prefer snug for match feel.

What size does my age group need?

It depends on hand size, not age — but as a rough guide: U7 keepers usually fit size 4, U9 size 5, U11 size 6, U14 size 7, and U16+ generally fit adult sizes 8–10. Always measure rather than guessing by age.

Can I return gloves if the size is wrong?

Yes — unused gloves in original packaging can be returned within 14 days for a full refund or size exchange. See our Returns Policy.
